The project consists of seven participants, including NeuroSpace as the only company. The Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) is the coordinator. <br/><br/>Within this project, we will produce the first European-wide real-time prototype forecast service of GIC in power systems, based on in-situ solar wind observations and comprehensive simulations of the Earth's magnetosphere.<br/><br/>From geomagnetic recordings, we will also derive a map of the statistical risk of large GIC throughout Europe. Worst-case GIC scenarios based on archives of geomagnetic data will also be included.<br/><br/>The project started in March 2011, and will continue until 2014. NeuroSpace will focus on simulation of GIC and outreach activities. There are all together 7 members, including NeuroSpace as the only company, in this proposal.<br/><br/>More information will follow about the proposal evaluation.
