My name is Magnus Wik. I am 40 years old and live together with my spouse, Åse, in Malmö, southern Sweden.

Before Ph.d studies I studied physics and mathematics at Lund University and after that I studied at University of Waterloo, Canada. There, in the physics department, I also worked as a research assistant doing matlab simulations of optical waveguides. At that time I met Dr David Boteler, director of ISES, at Geomagnetic Laboratory, in Ottawa. He was also my opponent during my Ph.d. defense.
I like exercise in all forms. I like running, weight lifting, cross-training, and occasionally practice self-defense training. In the winter I enjoy downhill skiiing. I also enjoy travelling, especially in combination with great food and wine! Last trip went to Barcelona, a great city!
My main interests are, of course, space physics, mathematics, space technologies and software development.
